Okay, so I was installing Mac OS 8.6 on SS today (I'm on Windows 10, and I found these instructions which I followed SPECIFICALLY: http://www.fitzweekly.com/2017/03/how-t ... ws-10.html) and it booted like it normally would. But the SECOND it got to the desktop, SS just abruptly closed out on me. So recently, I've been trying to figure out the problem. At first, I thought it may have been that I had an older version of GTK+, but it turns out I do have the latest version of GTK+, which is version 3, which well exceeds SS's expectations. If anyone knows what to do, I would gladly appreciate it.

At step 13, also tick "Ignore Illegal Memory Accesses"

So use the SheepShaverGUI to set that and try again.

It is beyond me why you should download an additional rom file at step 6.
The rom file in the download from step 2 is sufficient.
And at step 8, you should not set the rom file to read-only. Only the installation iso should be read-only.

Haha, nevermind! It turns out I didn't set the ROM file to "read-only". But hey, thanks for the tip, anyway.
