noob needs help making command key work on raspi

Post by doug-doug the mighty »

i cant figure out how to map the command key to my keyboard, looking for help.

hardware: raspberry pi B+
emulator: sheepshaver
macos: 8.5
keyboard: iPazzPort (bluetooth-enabled, pocket sized)

issue: the WIN button opens the raspi menu. the left ALT key (+ mouse click) moves the emulator window. no button combination is COMMAND and i cannot determine that OPTION is available either. i do not know how to make a keyboard mapping to resolve this.

what i think i need:
1) a way to figure out the key number (mapping address) for my keyboard so i can identify my keys to reassign.
2) the protocol/identifier of the new key (what doe sheepshaver think COMMAND and OPTION are?)
3) i am guessing a "keycode" file that i can point to wherein the aforementioned mappings are recorded, so what is the file syntax and type i need to use?

TIA for any shoves in the right direction.
