What Base OS you are running with PearPC?

Post by Computermad »

I have used both Windows XP and Gentoo to test if it works.
In Windows XP, Fullscreen and network(8139) are working...
However in Gentoo, fullscreen and network are not working...

I still cannot solve it now...

But I found that PearPC runs with Linux is a bit faster then run with WindowsXP.

I'm not sure if this is an appropriate topic for the "General Problems" forum. A poll such as this would be a better topic for the Advanced Chat or Freestyle forums, I believe.

Used to run Linux, but I recently removed it from my current PC. I like it, but there are so many times that I revert to Windows that I eventually thought "What the hell" and gave up on it.

I know the feeling Robojam. I'd like to use Linux, but learning to customize Linux the way I have Windows would take a hell of a long time.

Also, getting the hang of installation programs is a bit challenging. It's slightly easier with RPMs, but most stuff you still have to do the old-fashioned way... :?

I originally installed Linux to find out how it differed from VMS and Solaris, which were the only Unices that I had used previously. I just don't get the chance to use it at work now, so it was just sitting there...bye, bye Linux...

I can't wait until they release a public beta of AmigaOS 4. That would be so cool to try out. :)

Why is there no BeOS choice in the poll?

I run both. I use the same disk image between the two of them and they both run fine with networking and all. I prefer the Windows version right now because I haven't gotten full screen to work on Linux but that'll eventually be sorted out I'm sure.
