Semi-functional build is up now. It runs, but may or may not have networking, reports differ.

Runs flawlessly for me. Even the networking. It's amazing, to say the least.

Don't be, shouldn't affect anything AFAIK. I can force it if you would feel any better. :)

Actually changing the CPU-ID does matter(altivec, 64-bit extension, etc), so no G5's just yet.

Ok, I think I'm having some config file difficulties. The latest version works, but while the machine is booting the PPC window has no dimensions. What's with this? Don't I comment out the pcc_start_resolution lines and set the redraw_interval_msec to 1? :?

Are you using the video.x file that comes with the latest 0.3pre nightly? I'm using the one that I originally got with the first SDL version. :?

Sorry to keep pointing out problems. But using this version, when I try to go to the "Displays" pane of System Preferences, System Preferences crashes. :?

Odd indeed. Check AIM. =p

Edit: As for the Display Preferences crash, I noticed that too. Resolution switching seems to be broken.

Well, not seeing the Apple logo at bootup is not a terrible loss. ;)

PS. What do you mean "Check AIM"? lol

What's the difference between these versions? and where on the CVS website do you download those files?

another great build , programs opening time is shaved again , now takes only 10 - 13sec and finally it looks like all the genie animations steps are rendered . and now medium quality qt movies play smoothly on only 2,4ghz and no hyperthreading.

Just tested this win32 build that has the fixed clock. Nice indeed but...why doesnt the keyboard work on any SDL versions? No arrow keys work?

Thats simply a problem with SDL, I am posting a non-SDL build right now.

definitly a bug, I knew about it when I posted that build, but they are experimental so I they dont always work. Now I also wanted to see if the problem was only me or not. Its obvious it is. The solution at this point is not to use the FS just yet. I am looking into it now.

I've tried the new pre03/SDL/timing build and the animations now run as expected, but I can't tell any difference in graphics rendering between this and the regular PPC builds. Could I be doing something wrong?

thats because this build fixes timings but does not make anything else faster because its still being done in software and not hardware. sdl makes it smoother but not faster.

I just tried going back to the CVS builds instead of SDL. It feels so strange.

Eh, oh well, back to SDL builds I go.
