I used one of the PearPC installers. It worked well. I have no access to an OS 9 CD, however I do have access to OS 8.6. I am completely new to PearPC and wish to have it running with OS 8.6. Please help!

In fact PearPC doesn't run Classic at all. Use SheepShaver instead unless you want to write your own version from CVS.

I tried sheepshaver. It's not bad. It takes tweaking and is a bit slow. Recently it's been unstable as well. It will crash when it increases the resolution after the extensions load. Any advice?

A couple people i know have os 9, i hear this will work. Being the noobie that I am to this app (PearPC), I need step-by step idiot-proof instructions.

Out of curiosity why'd we make a poll out of this?

And *only* OSX.2 (.1 maybe, couldn't tell you) and up work with PearPC ATM. I'm not sure but I heard the coders are working on OS9 support.

If you think SheepShaver is slow, wait till you try PearPC.

Step 1: Buy Mac OS X. :P

I'm not so much into emulating macs as to buy OS X, but only to run some mac applications that I have, and to read mac format stuff. I prefer this to be done with speed...

Cat_7, where is this prepared image I read of?

Hello,

It's an empty hard disk image that has been partitioned and formatted for use with pearpc, so you can at least install OSX on it.

The image is roughly the same as the prepared images from pearpc.net.
So nothing to gain there. I have taken the images down as they easily self-created or to be gotten from other places.
