Fool Apple.com?

Post by Jotu »

Hey there, I am wondering if there is a browser out there that can change its settings to identify itself as Safari running on Mac OS X, so I could use it to grab a .mac trial?

I have a G3 Powerbook that would work fine for making a .mac trial, but I cant get to it at the moment, so im looking for a PC alternative right now :-p

I know how to do it with Firefox, and there's an IE hack as well.

For Firefox, snag the latest User Agent Switcher at http://update.mozilla.org/extensions/mo ... figuration

Go into the Extensions panel, double click on User Agent Switcher to bring up the configuration dialog. Copy/paste the following into one of the boxes as the User Agents.

Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/85.7 (KHTML, like Gecko) Safari/85.6

I can't remember what registry variable needs to be changed for IE off hand, give me a day to remember.
