Degrassi?

Post by robojam »

Clockwise posts lots of things about this Degrassi The Next Generation TV show, so I just wondered what anyone else thought of it.

(I watched one and personally I think it's a complete pile of poop aimed at young teenagers.)

Degrassi seems to be the continuation of some show about kids at school. They're all good looking, but have cliched 'issues' that they sort out in a very moralizing way. It's really bad chick-flick style drivel.

In the US it is way down on the listings on a small channel called 'Noggin', which puts it alongside shows like 'Sabrina the teenage witch'. I think it is a lot more popular in Canada where it is made, but I watched about 15 minutes of an episode and couldn't work out what anyone over the age of 12 would like about it.

I was just wondering about anyone else.

The main reason I don't watch it is that it just seems to be TV for kids that like to act grown up. I wonder if anyone still watches it when they reach their teens.

One vote for 'brilliant'.

I wonder if I should start a poll to see if people think that vote was from Clockwise...

The only TV I feel worth watching is Fox News, CNN, Battle Bots (RIP), old Star Trek TNG reruns, Jeopardy, Nova and almost anything on the Discovery, Science Discovery, Learning and History Channels (and TechTV - RIP).

Never seen or heard of Degrassi.

If you're in the US, check out Noggin on cable. Just watch an episode (or part of one), and see what you think.

Not sure how to find it in other countries though...

TV show Degrassi is not only shot in Canada but also aired there as well as in the US. Don't know what channel it's on in Canada though. It is a pretty lame show, though.

If you want to watch one, I think there are a few copies on ed2k, and if you look hard enough I'd bet there are some torrents out there. The official Degrassi website is http://www.degrassi.tv

DS9 is FAR better than TNG IMHO. Also, still no hide nor hair of Degrassi in the UK.

?!

I will accept that you like Voyager better than DS9. DS9 was not to every trek fans' taste, but I liked it a lot more than any other Trek.

I can't like Enterprise at all tho (compared with the others). It throw a lot of established trek events out of the window and doesn't seem to fit in very well. Others must agree because its ratings are very, very low.

Star Trek tends to be better than most shows on TV

I've been a loyal Star Trek fan all my life. I think I like TNG the most, followed by Voyager, DS9, and then ENT last. However Stargate SG-1, especially in the latter seasons, is far better than any Star Trek series to date, in my opinion.

I really think the earlier SG-1 episodes were better than the current - They almost stopped using the stargate.

And if you don't like Enterprise did you see the third season?
I agree that the first two were not great, but the third is much better (the xindi episodes I mean, I especially liked to see the enterprise-J)

I've watched every single episode of ENT, and my opinion still stands. In its third season, Voyager was cranking out more memorable episodes than ENT has in all three. And frankly, the "Alien Nazi" preview for the fourth season is just hokey. My hopes are not high for that show. :?
