What do you think the Mac will look like in 10 years?

Anything not about Mac emulation.

What do you think the Mac will look like in 10 years?

Here is what I think:
Mac timeline 1984-2015:
1984 - Apple introduces the Macintosh
1990 - System 7 is introduced, with 32-bit memory management and proper use of colors
1995 - Apple switches the Mac to the PowerPC architecture
1998 - The iMac series is first introduced
2001 - Mac OS X is intruduced, along with the classic Mac OS discontinuation
2005 - Apple announces the switch of the Mac to the Intel Pentium architecture
2006 - The first Intel based PowerBooks come out with the new Pentium-M2 processors
2007 - Macs are completely switched to the Pentium 5 & Pentium-M2 architecture
2009 - Apple no longer supports the PowerPC-based macs after the dramatic increase in sales of the Intel based Macs
2011 - Microsoft suffers losses, Apple controls 60% of the market with the new Mac OS XII, based on the Linux 4.2 kernel
2014 - Apple realises it has complete control of the market, and begins to manufacture new PowerPCs by itself to switch the Mac back
2015 - Microsoft crashes, Bill Gates is no longer a millionaire, Mac switches back to PowerPC, Marty McFly arrives from 1985 and can't believe his eyes

What do you think?

Today something realy scary happend. A housewife robot attacked his human housband, because he gave her no money for new shoes. with the reaction of the man the firewall of the robot goes down and it calculates a stack overun. in act of this the robot activated his internet explorer 12 and downloaded a how to kill from some hackersites. microsoft promisses some soft fixes and intel garantees a running trusted computing plattform. so, who is the jackass?

in 10 years 2015-2016)?

Maybe the mac will do away with the old-style keyboard and instead develop a touch-sensitive keyboard like the one used in Star Trek TNG's LCARS panels. Probably still going to be USB-based.

The optical mouse would still be wireless, but by then, they would be able to use an LED that can change to ANY color the user desires, simply by changing a setting in the MacOS. Of course, maybe laser mice (like the one Logitech has right now) could become the new standard.... we'll see.

I'm also thinking the Mac's exterior design (tower) might be made with the PC-modder in mind so that would-be modders can have the opportunity to add their own bling-bling to it (lights, replaceable side window, etc.)

The iMac would look physically similar to today's but thinner and have a translucent/transparent casing.

The MacOS itself would have done away with nested folders, almost completely. The only files that would stay in nested and encrypted folders would be CRITICAL system files. Programs that have any incompatibilities would be noticed by the OS and the OS itself would attempt to contact the manufacturer's site for any and all updates for it, according to your hardware configuration. The same would go for 3rd party peripheral makers as well. If it can't find updates, the MacOS will adapt to the peripheral and attempt to 'discover' all of a peripheral's controls, features, and attempt to actually CREATE an emulation environment from which to control that peripheral.

The eMac would be gone.

The iPod will be thinner, lighter, and sport wireless headphones. It'll also have a built-in digital voice recorder. Perhaps even a wrist-watch design might be in its future...

Macintosh displays would be pseudo-holographic for crystal-perfect images (of course, digital photos would be limited to whatever the quality of camera it was taken from).

2nd generation Blue-Ray DVD-RW would be the recording medium used in the new Macs.

Internal hard discs of 250-500 Terrabytes will come standard on iMacs and Power Macs.

Intel would have already released its 128-bit, multi-core processor.

Macintoshes would have micro-refrigeration units to keep the interior components cool.

PowerBooks would be as thin as a current CD/DVD cover or case thanks to its touch-sensitive keyboard and trackpad. No more cables because it will talk wirelessly to all peripherals and networks (with the exception of the power chord.... which would also become much thinner). Increased batterylife to perhaps half a week on a single charge (if not doing graphics-intensive stuff)... and i'm talking about the PowerBook staying on 24/7 for that same 3-4 days.

(4 minutes for these ideas.... 6 minutes to type it all out)

In 2015 um....

I see um... 30 to 80 TB MRAM drives instead of hard drives, Some double Intel 70 GHz CPU with SSE7 that deals with shit like 256-bit complex numbers, a case inspired by the G4 Cube, blu-ray shit with discs holding up to 350 GB, 32 to 64 GB of RAM, a QPU (quantum processing unit, lol), a hovering keyboard and mouse with hydrogen batteries (imagine a hovering mouse, that'd be fun kinda), some GeForce with a 12 cm fan, the keyboard would have some LCD-type shit inside its keys that'd make it able to change it's layout so Apple wouldn't need to bother with doing keyboards with different layouts anymore, um....

As for the OS, some new design shit to fit the fashion but barely better than what we got now, the OS would be even more simplified and even tho it would be very recent it would run like a charm on 10 year old machines. that's all i can think about..

Who cares? As long as it still has the Mac style and hopefully Bill Gates is struggling with a 2% market share and falling.
