Good question. But what happened to everyone else?

Alot of the old members from 2002/2003 seem to have dissapeared aswell.

And alot of the newer members.

But I'd say that you are one of the very few people that have.

yes indeed i would say the same
i think emaculation needs a more aggressive strategy to mac itself viewed on the net also i think the content of the site is to restricted, dont worry i am not talking about accepting sharing of p2p info but more like widening the subject variety even if it mean making a bit of place for other system like bsd, linux and windows anyway something like that

I think ataxy is right - there is so much scope for linking to other sites and areas that are on the periphery of emulation, plus it does need something to attract people to it a little more.

Maybe an updated guide to emulation with each tool rather than having to follow the various threads, and maybe a links page for getting various resources that are useful, even if they aren't hosted on this site?

Even the news isn't updated that often anymore.

yeah well an example of thing that should be done in my opinion, the sticky should be clean even if i do understand that some people still want to use the old sheepshaver, the mix of sticky from info about the old not so old and new version may be misleading to new user and may give the impression that the forum is not well taken care of, so thing should be cleaned out new guide should be made out of the current sticky gathering the info from those sticky in something cleaner, anyway i know you understand what i mean, also it is important that agin in my point of view that Emaculation should not put fence around itself this is a mac emulation forum but it doesnt mean other emulation arent interresting!
Opening to other subject also that are of topic but topic that may keep user from going away or other topic that may bring user to be interrested in participating in this forum anyway those are idea and only you can get them working i just hope Emaculation wont fall into oblivion.

anyway i totally agree with Robojam and just hope that this forum will go on and not just be a forum with three poster

ah also the new user..... ah all those new user with weird caracter that have profile with link pointing to online casino......that should be taken care of its a plague and is not good for the forum reputation, i mean have you check recently how many user whe have that come from Galaxy and that have site in a .ru domain its absurd and should be prevented maybe by adding a image verification during registration.

The image verification doesn't work. The email varification *did* work, but doesn't now.

<toot horn>If anyone noticed, after a long period of not visiting this forum, I've been back too the last month. And I tried contributing some useful projects (CVS build Bash scripts, Mac Emu installer), besides helping the newbs out.

I just don't do PearPC as I only own OS X 10.2 which I only got networking working on once a long time ago. School, work and sleep prevent me from being here full time.

Another thing that makes this forum seem more dead is the lack of Clockwise, who now has responsibilities in South Korea.

But cheer up, I believe Macintels will get more people checking out Basilisk II, SheepShaver and this forum. 8)

You are in luck! It's not on this forum, but there was an illegal request for Mac OS 8 on the Unofficial Basilisk II/JIT & SheepShaver Delphi forum today.

I dislike having to be a "bad guy" and tell these needy, impoverished people they are possibly breaking U.S. and often International laws by just asking for Mac emu (Apple) warez. Nevermind that a providing party and they are breaking laws by any possible transaction (which is logged by secret companies like this article explains).

For some reason, I feel like singing "Santa Claus is Coming to Town", but with modified lyrics.

My mum now has a powermac g4. Although it's not mine, it's in the same house as me and I do use it sometimes. Can I use the rom legally?

I do have a source of illegal roms that I'm going to use soon as I have just installed windows 2000 and can now use sheepshaver!

*cough*

Oooooops, I meant I will be getting my old powermac out of the cupboard and extracting it's rom for use with sheepshaver ;)

Sorry, I didn't mean that. I meant I *do* have a source of illegal roms, but I'm going to get my old powermac out and extract it's rom. Not use the illegal rom.

I am quite happy to say that since then, I have aquired two PowerBooks (1400 and 3400) and a Beige PowerMac G3, as well as an LCII, so no need to use illegal ROMs.

Ah,

Yes, some of us are indeed progressing with time...But still there is a place for e.g, SheepShaver and Basilisk as they are able to give X86 mac users a classic environment to play with.

The hackintosh seems to be alive and kicking. At least at the places where I look for it. And SheepShaver gets a lot of use in the Intel Mac community.

Is anyone really interested in emulation these days?

Did you notice that Zophar's Domain was sold recently? Some forum member bought the domain name and the web pages. Probably for spare change.

I think that THIS forum might get more traffic than the ZD forum. :(
