The Cybersecurity Act 2009

Post by Ambassador »

Well, it seems this "Cybersecurity Act 2009" has been passed by the US Senate, essentially giving the US government the authority to shut down the Internet in the U.S. in what it deems a crisis, among other things. Thoughts.

I should mention that this would directly affect Canada along with many other countries if this act's power is utilized. In my opinion, considering how corporations and the U.S. government are pretty much linked to this chest, and also considering the ongoing Anti-Consumer Trade Agreement fiasco, this act is extremely bad news to say the least.

Yes,

Our bigger brothers are protecting other interests then our private ones.
The whole ACTA deal with the secrecy surrounding it seems bad news. At least there now is draft available and the EU has voted to stop the secret process.

Best,
