DR-DOS 7.0.3 Installation issue

Did anybody try to install from floppy these days?
I ran into a strange issue. Booted from Disk1, prepared the HDD, rebooted and the installer started to copy and inflating files. after a short while the monitor is switched off and nothing more is happening.
I was trying the five floppy full install set.
The floppy images were from two separate sources - Uni Bayreuth and WinWorld, so I doubt the images are bad.
Floppies were made with DiskCopy on a XP box without error.
The hardware to install on is my old HP D530, P4 with NV AGP graphics, 2GB RAM and a 10GB pATA drive.
I did put DR-DOS aside for now as MS-DOS 6.2.2 does what it should on the D530.
Its only that I would have preferred DR-DOS if possible.
