Hey,
I had SheepShaver v 4.0.1 (COI, Chubby Bunny both seem to be names it also goes by) running for a while, mostly for the nostalgia of playing some games from when I was younger. I stopped using it for about a week, and now it won't start. I open it, the image bounces in my dock once, and then nothing more happens. I'm running it on mac os 10.6.6, and here's what I get in the console from trying to start it:

Are you absolutely sure the files really exist? If they do , make sure the filename is exactly as it says , and make sure there are no hidden characters . You can rename the files to what the preferences say and see what happens .

They should, as it was working just fine about a week ago. I'm not sure what could have happened to them, although I did have to do some clean-up type of stuff fairly recently because my comp was running slow. What do I do if they don't? Also, how do I check to see if they do? Where would they be? Sorry, I'm not really good with computers =/

Note that we only support the original SheepShaver, not the non-configurable, pre-configured, and pre-installed COI package. I will try to shed some light on your problem anyway.

Most lines in the log, the ones about a "missing semicolon in dictionary" and the ones about "No such file or directory" are 'normal' while starting COI and are not related to not being able to launch COI. You would see many more such 'normal' lines related to COI when COI would continue to run.

Only the last line you posted is not normal and looks familiar:
4/20/11 9:06:29 AM [0x0-0x76b76b].COI[29745] ERROR: Cannot map RAM: File exists.

If you search the forum for "Cannot map RAM: File exists", you will find that this problem was solved some two years ago in SheepShaver source and thus in my later SheepShaver builds. I do not know which source version was used for the SheepShaver executable in COI 4.0.1. At the time it was also reported that the problem could be provoked by setting RAM for SheepShaver to 512MB or higher, but RAM in COI is hard coded at 256MB and cannot be changed.

Thanks a ton for that info. I was able to figure out (By digging in the forums and seeing some of your responses, and just fiddling) that I could use the following steps to fix this issue:
1. Download the newer version of sheepshaver, that had the fix for this problem
2. Right-click on the newly downloaded sheepshaver app and select view package contents
3. Right-click on the "classic" application in my COI folder, and select View Package contents
4. Right click on the "COI" application in the contents of the classic application and again select view package contents
5. replace the existing "contents" folder in the COI application contents with the contents folder from Sheepshaver
6. add a folder inside the contents folder that I just put into COI called "resources disabled" (This was inside the original contents folder for COI, but not Sheepshaver... not sure if this is a necessary step or not)

It runs just fine now. Thanks for your help! Hope that this may help others running into the same problem.
