Hi All,
I have a question about QEMU VMs for OS 9 - I'm not a programmer, and so far have had a lot of trouble understanding how to use QEMU in Snow Leopard. I noticed that GitHub has QEMU VMs for several different OSes, but none for 9.2.2. Does anyone know of a site that has pre-built VMs for OS 9 for the Mac?
Pre-Built OS 9 VMs?

Re: Pre-Built OS 9 VMs?
Hi,
Most (or even all) qemu builds provided here for OSX do not support Snow Leopard. I started building on El Capitan a while ago and that will be the default for some time to come.
As for getting a image with Mac OS 9.2, see the macintoshrepository site. Once you have Qemu running, you can use that image.
Best,
Cat_7

Re: Pre-Built OS 9 VMs?
Well, actually I did find one here that supposedly works:
http://www.mediafire.com/file/jvy54hdzj ... 2.10.1.zip
I do have to say the instructions for setup in Terminal are confusing to me as a non-programmer. How do I...
"Create an empty disk image with qemu-img. Open a command prompt and navigate to your Qemu folder."
When I click on qemu-img, it opens Terminal, gives me this message:
Last login: Wed May 30 07:48:56 on console
/Applications/QEMU/qemu-img ; exit;
c-174-52-180-29:~ Jeff$ /Applications/QEMU/qemu-img ; exit;
dyld: Library not loaded: @executable_path/../libs/libgthread-2.0.0.dylib
Referenced from: /Applications/QEMU/qemu-img
Reason: image not found
Trace/BPT trap
logout
[Process completed]
And I'm thinking I missed something.

Re: Pre-Built OS 9 VMs?
Did you read Cat_7´s message?
Snow Leopard will be a no-go for Qemu as you will have a hard time to find a working Qemu executable.
Which other computers do you own or can your Snow Leo rig run El Cap at least?
A pre-built 9.2 boot image its your smallest problem.
You could get mine, but is absolutely useless unless grounds are laid for Qemu.
For using emu-img, please be so kind to read Cat_7´s guide.

Re: Pre-Built OS 9 VMs?
Just for the record, the QEMU build I mentioned to Cat-7 has a ReadMe that says:
System Requirements:
64-bit x86 processor
Mac OS 10.6 or higher
Maybe at the end of the day it won't work, but it's worth a shot.

Re: Pre-Built OS 9 VMs?
You should run that qemu-img program from the command line.
So no way around using the terminal to cd to your folder and then issue the command to create an image.
