Hi Guys
I was wondering if anyone could help me out.
I downloaded 7.6.1 from http://www.columbia.edu/~em36/macos9osx.html
and installed it on my iMac (Mojave) it works fine but the sound option is greyed out with SimpleText, yet I can get sound with Jigsaw app.

I can't see how to enable sound for SimpleText so can anyone help please?
Thanks in advance.

Open the Sound control panel and select your sound output device. After that it should work.

Thanks for taking the time to respond to me.

Open the Extensions Manager control panel. Add a check mark next to Sound. Click Restart. You will now see the Sound control panel, but it won't enable sound in SimpleText. I have no idea of how to enable sound in SimpleText in that system. If anyone else knows, could you post the method here?

EDIT: It appears that, on a real Mac, SimpleText can record sounds. I doubt that is possible in BasiliskII or SheepShaver, but perhaps it is.

Wow, brilliant. That did the trick. I just selected Sound, Apple Talk, Speech Manager and now it works perfectly.
Thanks for your assistance.

Amazing. I had no idea that this could work. The next time I update this system, I'll enable Sound and the Speech Manager in the default setup.
