I'm looking for games with complexity and interesting mechanics. I love RPGs, strategy games, simulations, etc.. and would be up for trying anything good, really. I've already grabbed a bunch of games but I'm wondering if there's more I missed. Feel free to recommend me anything! Thanks!
(I was just thinking of Asterax the other day – or rather of how I had completely forgotten what it was called. Again.)
There is much available on archive.org as well.
And then there's sites like the Macintosh Garden that are dedicated to lists like this, if you bother to look at the forums instead of just the game archive (which also happens to let you search by category etc.).
Might I suggest buying a copy of "The Secret History of Macintosh Gaming" on the Kindle for eight bucks? Amazon Link: https://amzn.to/3nS9DzJ
You can just go chapter by chapter and play the games the book talks about. Understanding the development and creative history of the games might make them more rewarding.
Actually, someone with lots of time on their hand should make disk images to accompany each chapter.
