Well, as far as I can see it works fine. What do you mean with "still doesn't work"? What does not work?
With all the windows open it is impossible to see what is what. Which are the disks mounted on the desktop and in which order do they appear? The top one is always the one you booted from, apparently a disk named "Mac OS 8.1". Which disk is that? It will also be the one that is at the top of the volumes list in the GUI. If it is the install disk and if you did install the OS, you should remove it from the volumes list.
I also see below the windows a "My Mac Volume" disk. If that is the disk you installed the OS onto, it should now be moved to the top of the volumes list in the GUI. In fact, if the OS was installed successfully onto this disk, best remove all other bootable disks from the volumes list.
