Looks good!

Maybe later also a matching BasiliskII GUI icon? The current icons are made to match.
See the current BasiliskII GUI beta here: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=10454

Another idea I had was to put M68k on the front instead of the OS versions. That way it works even if you compile the System 6 version of Basilisk II.

I like it, looks good and would suit Big Sur, can you make one for the GUI too?

I can provide the Photoshop source file I used to create the GUI icon at viewtopic.php?p=65749#p65749, if that helps. But all which could be reused from that is the control panel background, it seems.

I've been a bit busy. I'll put something together for the GUI real soon and I'll see how it looks. The photoshop file for the GUI icon might be useful. Maybe I could recreate the control panel in the modern "squircle" shape using Big-sir UI elements for the slider at the bottom.

I have just added “Basilisk II GUI icon.psd” to the download link https://c.web.de/@337526389169198226/Yi ... XaxP0sxWmw .

In order for the control panel to stay sharp after scaling (especially in the small sizes required for the icon file), I’ve used “nearest neighbour” when scaling in Photoshop.

Sorry for not following up on this; over the past couple of months I've been very busy. Just now, I had some time and I made this icon for the GUI app (partially based on Apple's UI element PSD file from their design resources page: https://developer.apple.com/design/resources/).

I think it looks good, although the low contrast between the right side of the finder icon and the background is bugging me a bit. Still, the other icon has that same issue so I guess it's not a huge deal.

Here's the file:

I like the idea, but in this form the images are not yet usable as icons.

I converted your .png images to .icns icons and compared them to the current icons at 64x64.

Image

At this size, your icons look rather pale and with little contrast and thin lines, especially the GUI icon. Did you create a full icon set, or just the 804x804 .png images? For use as icons, a full icon set would need to be drawn. The current icons were created as icon set, with adaptations for the different sizes to compensate for the effects of resizing, such as with relatively thicker lines and less detail in the smaller sizes. Creating an icon set should start with a 1024x1024 .png image.

It would be trivial to make a full icon set. I really just haven’t had time to do so. I really ought to do this though; I’ll see if I can get around to it later this week. I’ll play with the colors to add more contrast.

Trivial? Maybe.
