Ethernet Protocol error

I have Windows XP and i`m trying to install the BII Windows 2000 ethernet protocol and I select it and it starts to add it then an errot message comes up and says, Could Not add requested component, the Error is: The Specified Service has been marked for deletion. what does this mean and how can I get my cable internet connetion to work in BII
