Vista and ethernet problems

Post by Urban »

Hey folks,

I recently moved to Vista (my most recent of many mistakes) and can't seem to get networking running correctly with Basilisk. I installed the Basilisk network protocol for Windows 2000 (which worked for XP), but it doesn't seem to register. What I mean is, when I try any option under "Network card NDIS driver", none of the options show my hardware address. Trying to use any of them gives me an error message saying that it couldn't be used.

Anyone know what's wrong or possible solutions?

Hi,

It looks like you are using build 142 of Basilisk?

The version of BasiliskII linked to below runs in Vista and supports networking. I just tried it. It uses a different GUI, that needs an installation of a GTK runtime and uses the SDL.dll file. Links to those are below as well.

http://gwenole.beauchesne.info/projects ... .win32.zip

http://www.libsdl.org/download-1.2.php
http://gladewin32.sourceforge.net/modules/wfdownloads/

I'll see if I can get Basilisk142 using networking as well and post my results here.

EDIT: I just installed 142 and tested networking. It runs perfectly over here. The GUI found the ethernetcard I used to install the Basilisk ethernet driver without any problems.

Did you do a fresh install or did you copy all of your Basilisk files over to Vista? I started with a clean preferences file.

Best wishes,
