I got fed up with Basilisk II 1.0-pre just hanging on a black screen on startup, so I downloaded an older version, Build 94 I think it is. Everything's running smooth, boots up first time, everytime, internet's running OK, the only thing is the colour patterns have disappeared, and I only have the B&W patterns. Decor doesn't work either, neither does copying and pasting an image into the Desktop Patterns control panel. Is there a way to fix this? I hate staring at a boring 2 colour pattern all the time. I got System 7.0.1 running in the same version, with Basilisk running as a Mac IIfx, and the colour patterns are there.

That was a bug. It has been fixed... but you are using a version of Basilisk II from ten years ago.
Try build 142:

After reinstalling System 7.5, and changed the colour setting in Basilisk II GUI to 256, I got the patterns. I'd have preferred thousands or millions of colours, but apart from the occasional viewing of photos, I can't see why 256 colours would be a problem for me.
I sometimes get a message saying unhandled exception occurred, Basilisk is shutting down. This mainly happens when I'm using Windows with Basilisk in the background
