Choosing the right Model ID

Post by Guest »

In the Memory tab in Basilisk II GUI (where I indicated the ROM file path) it identifies my ROM as having come from an LC/Quadra/Performa 630. However, in the General tab, I did not find a matching Model ID. What ID should I set it to?

With a 1 MB ROM image, set it to Model ID 14 (Quadra 900) no-matter-what Mac the ROM came from.

The Windows porter of Basilisk II implemented the Model ID setting as a way of tricking some installers that Basilisk II was some particular Mac (most notably, some Performa software won't install on a non-Performa). But he never spent much time testing out or implementing any code necessary for full support of any Model ID besides #14. Thus, he recommends using #14.
