BII with Sierra ?

Post by chelim78 »

Heelo ! I currently run BII 1997-2006 on OS 10.8.5 with great satisfaction. Apple suggests to update to Sierra (10.12). Is BII 2014 compatible with this last OS ? if not, which is the highest OS I can run BII with ? Thanks !

Yes, no problem.
Ronald´s build from 2014 is fully compatible with Sierra: http://www.xs4all.nl/~ronaldpr/basilisk ... 140301.zip

I would keep a 10.8 instance for reading physical Mac CDs from the emulated MacOS.
A (virtual) machine running (Snow) Leopard may be preferable though.

10.6 is the gateway OS; it's the only VM I use on a semi-regular basis, because I keep my compiler toolchain in there, and can compile software that will run on any OS X from 10.3 PPC through 10.12 Intel.
