I downloaded the Symantec THINK C 6.0 SIT file from https://www.macintoshrepository.org/296 ... hink-c-6-0
I'm running the 2015 build of BasiliskII on Windows running System 7.5.5 and I have Stuffit Expander 5.5
When I try unpacking the SIT file it only shows a single file called "disk 1.img" which is only a few kilobytes.
I used a Windows utility to extract the SIT file and ended up with 4 img files named "disk 1", "disk 2", etc...
disk 1.img - 698 KB (715,128 bytes)
disk 2.img - 761 KB (779,538 bytes)
disk 3.img - 766 KB (785,059 bytes)
disk 4.img - 686 KB (703,380 bytes)
I've tried several different utilities in BasiliskII in an attempt to mount these image files and nothing has worked. Are they corrupted? Am I not using the right program?
Please help.

You can mount image files in BasiliskII by adding them to the volumes list in the GUI.

If I mount the 'disk 1' img file in the volumes list and then start BasiliskII, I got a dialog that says "This disk is unreadable by this Macintosh" and asks if I want to format the disk.Ronald P. The img files must not be the correct format.

Right. These image cannot be mounted that way. I could mount them in BasiliskII, System 7.5.5, using Disk Copy 6.3.3.

Feel free to try the second DL here: http://macintoshgarden.org/apps/think-c-601
The first DL contains the original 800k HFS images, which should be mountable with emulators.
SIT must be inflated with Stuffit (Expander) on a Mac (emulator).
As you already tried that, something may have gone wrong while moving the files.
SIT ranges from 1.5 (I think) to 7.x, so it can happen that you come across a file your Expander in Basilisk II does not handle.
Did you move the SIT archive to the Mac HD - not to your Mac´s desktop?

Re: Trying to unpack and install Symantec THINK C 6.0
The stuffit archive appears to be Stuffit 5. It can be decompressed correctly with unar.exe on Windows (http://unarchiver.c3.cx/commandline). The internal images are DiskCopy 6.3 images, which can be mounted inside the emulator but not attached to it.

That did the trick. I was able to inflate the SIT file with Stuffit Expander inside the emulator, and then mount the image files from within the emulator as well.24bit wrote:Feel free to try the second DL here: http://macintoshgarden.org/apps/think-c-601
