Avoiding data loss

Post by voyager »

I've been running 7.6.1 on Basilisk for a couple of years and it was rock solid. Then a few days ago I was working on a file and Save suddenly stopped working. Checking, I found that half the file had vanished, and so had a few ancillary programs I had. Fortunately, Time Capsule restored it all, but I'm wondering if there's any good tips for maximizing stability in Basilisk.

The file was a complex one, but I've worked on it often, and should have plenty of memory (the 64 MB shown in the set-up guide). Can I (should I) up that number, or is it limited by the system?
