You could always install OS9 on a real mac, and copy over the System Folder through the network.jhkl wrote:Extremely dumb question below. Be prepared.
How exactly do you get the OS 9 classic folder on the virtual hard drive using PearPC? I thought that the operating system had to be installed in order to have the classic folder on the disk.

I was planning to move my os to a 6gig img.
does anyone know if I can enlarge my 3 gig.img?
or has anyone had success making a boot disk from a 3 gig img to a 6 gig img?
hell I might just reinstall on a 6 gig img.
always looking for the easy way.
I need some room to add the Classic stuff from my G5.
I think I will strip all the prefs to keep the os9 load small and few conflicts.
hope it works...

There used to be a tutorial on the main page with information on how to go from 3 GB to 6 GB, but it isn't there anymore. From what I can remember, you have to create the 6 GB disk and set it as the secondary IDE device. You then use Apple's Disk Copy utility to copy the old hard drive's contents to the new one.

10.4 is not out yet, just previewed. look for it after Christmas.
until then I don't know where you might find a working version.
has anyone looked at the project that allows you to change xp into a "OSX' looking system???? I can't remember what it is called but it makes xp "look and feel" like OSX.

It is far from finished from what I can tell and it isn't fundamentally different to 10.3. Not really worth it... BTW: The final release is scheduled for January 2005. So calling this pre-release a RC is kind of an euphemismCybermagellan wrote:yeah I used to use a few that did that....one program was called DesktopX, Aston Shell...there are a few...but 10.4 was a RC that got released at WWDC. Just wondering if anyone here had the chance to run that yet
Beside of that, we're again running into the question, if discussing betas here is WaReZ or not... For me that is not necessarily the case, because the one that breaks his Non Disclosure Agreement is the betatester who leaks these disk images....
Anyway, probably not appropriate on these forums...

classic in osx
Okay, I've got pear pc0.1.2 running OsX 10.3.5 smoothly... still no luck with classic. Unfortunately, I'm out of town and do not have access to my trusty old 7300 to scoop the system folder from, All I have is my Sheepshaver install, and my Os 9.2.2 install cd. I have the time to mess around, just need a push in the right direction.
Thanks, keep up the good work!
