help with increasing hard drive tutorial

Post by MDZ61384 »

hey guys, quick question for ya

I seem to have been able to get everything converted from my old 3 gig hard drive to my new 6 gig drive using the increasing hard drive tutorial made by ryan hoffman (I have the 1.0 initial release). I've managed to get everything transferred, except when I try to make the partition bootable, it doesn't want to work.

I type in "/dev/disk1" in the terminal and I get:

"pdisk: can't open file '/dev/disk1' permission denied"

not sure what to do about this. anyone have any ideas? I'm running a 3 ghz p4 with osx 10.3.4 panther with 1 gig of ram

any help would be appreciated :)

try "sudo pdisk"... you then will be prompted for your admin password.
