Jackalo you over reacted.

a dmg is an imag. I could dmg all the messages on here and then sent it to anyone. dmg simply is a way to compress data.
A dmg is not just a copy of software that someone else owns.
Like the message said, it was a dmg of photos from a trip.
and someone sharing pictures they took and made into a dmg is not warez....

Yeah, I agree with Yukon Kid; Its just pictures and dmg is similar to zip, so anything can be contained (pearpc builds are zipped, pearpc builds can be dmg'd)

I think the posts on the site about warez concern the OBVIOUS use of warez. If someone simply has a dmg image that they need to decompress then that shouldn't be an issue.

The problem is going to occur if anyone gives any hint of warez being involved.

well it can be mounted as a disk img, but it can be created using any files you want. such as pictures.
if i made a cd of all my pictures and then made a dmg of the disk the space it would take on my hard drive would be less than the origionals, and i could send the dmg to my friends and family.
dmg = zip = rar = img ..etc. it just so happens to be Apples way to do things.
it is not just for Apple to make disk images of OSX.

I agree Robo... the problem is I did not read anything to suggest warez in the post... it was very straight forward.
some one had pictures sent as a dmg and he thought he could open it to view using dmg2iso.
hence my reason for posting.

This has been one fucked up week for me. I thought he said he had gotten a copy of OS X from his friend in DMG format.

I'm going to keep my nose out of moderation from now on.

I became an admin for the fact that I moved the website to the new server, helped in the process of upgrading stuff, and make changes to the code whenever Clockwise requests it.

What happened the other day was a pretty big fuck up, I'll admit, but when I banned the person I honestly thought they had mentioned that they received a DMG copy of OS X from their friend.

We all have those days, but sometimes we need help to see our errors.
Thanks for understanding.
