i start the game and it sez cannot acces monitor somthing -3

This is because BII cannot change resolutions and colours on the fly. You have to adjust the settings in BII before ou start it. For EV set them to 640x480 and 256 colours. FOr Override the resolution can go up to 800x600.

Did you set it to 256 colors with in the Basilisk II GUI, rather than in the MacOS?

i got it to work except it only works in windows gdi wich runs in black and white..........
