Basilisk II Manual

Post by ClockWise »

This manual (11 mb pdf file) is really helpful. Everyone should download it:

http://www.kearney.net/~mhoffman/basiliskII/manual/

(the first file)

It was written by Marc Hoffman. Hoffman's main page is over here:

Toot! Toot!

Marc's guide is extensive and covers installing OS 8. He does a good job covering all the options of the Basilisk II Configuration Manager. The last I read, it was $20 shareware.

I created a small free guide for Basilisk II for Windows available here.

Someone pointed out to me that Marc's site has been down for awhile, so his manual hasn't been available online for awhile (I have it, but don't have the webspace to host it).

I did some searching for BasiliskII_Windows_Manual.exe, but all links pointed to Marc's site.

But I did find another PDF describing installing and setting up Basilisk II. The website also has a Basilisk II installer which I haven't tried out.

Paying for it is optional. You don't have to if you don't want to.

The BII manual can still be found here:

http://www.os-emulation.net/basiliskII/ ... Manual.exe

Although I can no longer get the exe file to extract. I still have the PDF somewhere so give me a shout if you wantit.

It is a very good guide :)

I don't have a working link as Marc's site seems to be very temperamental, but I do have the PDF file and the EXE file both on my hard disk. I can supply a copy to anyone who wants.

It is a very good guide.

Edit: os-emulation.net seems to be no more.

For those that want it, it is downloadable from here http://www.emaculation.com/b2manual/

Note that I have not obtained permission to host it.

I never got permission to include in on the Monster Mac Emulation Pack 2007, but included it with the shareware readme file.

I wonder if anyone ever gave Marc anything for his work.
