Freehand 8 crashing Sheepshaver

Post by accessipd »

Sheep Shaver is doing a great job. Thank you all who developed it!

I have one issue, when I open Freehand 8 it crashed Sheep Shaver.
I've tried allocating less memory to Freehand.

Any Ideas?

What system?

Would you mind specifying your type of host system and SS-version?
Freehand is working with my Win32 host system and SS-2.3

FH7

Hi,
I am afraid, I somehow mixed up things.
I am using Illustrator_8 and Freehand_7
with SheepShaver. The PowerMac version
of FH7 is installed.
So I can't say anything about Freehand 8.

Yours.

I have FreeHand 8.0.1 running under both Mac OS 9.0.4 and 7.5.3 using the SheepShaver 2.3.20091018 build on a MacBook Pro.

The key to getting FreeHand 8.0 to launch without crashing SheepShaver is to turn off "Enable JIT Compiler".

1. Choose SheepShaver > Preferences.
2. Click the Miscellaneous tab.
3. Under CPU Options, select only the following options:
-- Allow Emulated CPU to Idle
-- Ignore Illegal Instructions
-- Ignore Illegal Memory Access
4. Click Save.
5. Shut down SheepShaver, and then re-launch it.
6. Launch FreeHand 8.0 and enjoy.

Freehand was crashing Sheep Shaver on my computer too. The trick worked fine for me. Thank you very much!
