As you may have read on the forum, I have an old installation of BasiliskII from about 2003/2004. I used it successfully in Windows XP in Virtual Box, but now I have have Windows XP installed on the PC.
I double clicked on BasiliskIIGUI.exe and the system immediately restarted. Later, I double cliked on GEMXPLOR.EXE (Gemulator Explorer, I wanted to try and read a Mac formatted floppy), and the system immediately restarted.
Any ideas?
Computer restarting

XP config?
Helllo,
could it be that you have the option " immidiate restart on error" checked in your WinXP settings?
I recall there is such an option by default. If you turn this off you may be able to locate the problem.
The nature of your problem is most likely some kind of "file not found" error.
Can you try your emulation settings with another host system?
Hoping you'll fix it!

Version
Sorry, I did not read your post last week!
What version of BII causes the error?
I would give it a try myself with XP SP2.

I am unsure at the moment, if I ever tried build 142.
Build 94 and all newer versions, Cat7 posted, are doing fine with my XP hosts.
Do you think you could create a zip file of your installation, put it on your server and tell me the link?
I would try your files with one of my XP systems then.
Do you have some kind of maintainance sotware for Windows?
May be there is some problem with your host system.
The German "Computer Bild" released a free version of TuneUp_2009 Utilities that takes care of all the mess Windows is creating on your harddisk.
I'm afraid there is no English user interface, unfortunately.
Edit: TuneUp 2009 is available for free in a couple of languages.
