Password reset link may be non-functional
About a week ago I forgot my password and requested a password reset. Eventually I managed to find my old password, so I logged in using that. The point is that the password reset functionality seems broken and maybe a sysadmin should look into it.

Re: Password reset link may be non-functional
Seems to be based on the browser you use; I was having problems with the site last week as well, and found I needed to use FireFox to get the reset submission to work -- totally failed from my phone.
So if you've got the correct email address added, you should be able to receive the reset email. Assuming a spam filter hasn't blocked it.
And by sysadmin, you mean ClockWise, as this is his site from top to bottom

Thanks for the heads up.
Was the failure on your end related to the form... or that the email was not delivered? Did you use the regular forum theme or the mobile?

On my side it was related to the form. submission; I don't think it ever got as far as the "you will receive an email" screen.

Hmm. Were you using the mobile version on your phone?
I'll try to recreate that tomorrow morning if so.

Tried this and encountered a different problem. A new password was sent to my email address. But I could not login with the new password (tried in both Safari and Firefox). I could eventually login again with my old password, but had to pass the Turing test because I exceeded the allowed number of login attempts.

It was a while ago; I remember using Firefox and Chrome under El Cap and the mobile and regular interface under Mobile Safari; Firefox under El Cap is what worked.

Hmm. Have no problems in Chrome. I request the reset, click the authorization link and the new password becomes active. Wish I could reproduce this.

Oh, eh, oops! I was in a hurry and missed the authorization link. Anyway, I did receive the email message with the new password.

Hello,
I tried the reset link again and it worked fine. I'm starting to think this was an ID 10T error, meaning it was totally my fault
You see, once I checked my user profile I saw that I had used an alias e-mail address and had forgotten about it. Since the forum requires both the username and e-mail address, and I was typing in the wrong e-mail, it simply wasn't sending the link to me.
Sorry for the false alarm.

Odd that three of us had similar HKI errors at the same time though. But I can't replicate my issues now either, so it's probably not worth investigating further, Clockwise.
