Contribution: New VirtualBox GUI for PearPC

Post by SistemaRayoXP »

Reminder: Test the app first, vote in poll later

I was actually trying to decompile the old one and see if could I fix some problems I saw. But as far as I've seen, it's too hard (To re-use the non-GUI code) and I decided to re-make it.

I've used the artwork and icon of the old GUI, credits to Jamie Bartlett and Julia Nikolaeva for this.

I made two betas: a closed beta and an open beta. I'll leave the link of the open beta (Executable only).

Once I've finished the GUI, I'll release the application (Executable and source code)in GitHub (For anyone interested). but meanwhile, I'll keep the betas as closed source

Additional note: As I feel Visual Basic 6 problematic (At least with my setup), I migrated the code to NET 2.0.

I heard that programs such as running Virtual Machine require very coding and are very difficult. But I likes Virtualbox programs and it looks nice.

Thanks for your interest, but I want to keep it clear: This is not a virtual machine program nor an emulator, is a Graphic User Interface/FrontEnd for another emulator, in other words, you need another program to make this functional.

So it's not really a hard work, but it takes some time, of course

As the program PearPC requires some work in order to start, PearBox makes it easy for you, in the style of VirtualBox, this two programs (PearPC and PearBox) help you to emulate a Macintosh that can run Mac OS X 10.1 to 10.4

New open beta release

-New machine wizard works
-You can add existing configuration files
-You can boot machines (This is amazing)
-You are warned when the config file doesn't starts with PearPC (Includes funny messages  )

Notes/Bugs
-Configuration page doesn't work, it's just a preview of what I'm doing
-Preferences menu not designed/non-functional (Yet)

What scanner/detection name? Or even better, what's the SHA256?

Windows Defender says "there is a threat". But this error does not exist in the previous PearBox version.

I know why: I've included here the compressed 6gb Image so you know what happened with the old PearPC VBox GUI when they did that. I'll re upload it but with a custom GUI for Qemu-Img (So you make the HD "on the way")

You can just password protect a zip file with the image in it, leave the password in the folder, and the scanners will stop detecting it as a zip bomb.
