Stealth or USB support

Post by Danny77 »

Hello,
I'm new here, and i've just successfully installed sheep shaver on my macbook pro and i'm really happy with this.

I'm currently still running a G4 with the Roland RSS 10 software which controls a hardware FX unit thats currently connected on the stealth port.
What I want to accomplish is that I can run this on sheep shaver.

In my opinion there are two options,
1- using a USB to serial port which is connected to the RSS10 with a DB9-DIN cable.
2- using a MOTU usb midi interface which connects to the RSS10 with midi.
Both options require a Thunderbolt3/USBC to USB adapter in my case.

Is there anyone who can help me accomplish this,I have no idea how to patch the USB port.

Many thanks, Danny

I am not sure exactly what you want to accomplish, but in SheepShaver USB does not exist, nor is SheepShaver aware of USB ports on the host.

The only option you've got for USB and potential MIDI is via QEMU; however, you'll be going into uncharted territory there, as I don't know of anyone who's got bidirectional MIDI working on QEMU-PPC yet. USB passthrough works though.
