I use windowed mode and hardware cursor on a retina iMac running High Sierra. Just switched from Ronald's 2019-02-20 build to 2019-03-29, and now my cursor is large (looks like scaled up 2x) when inside the SheepShaver window. If I switch to the software cursor the size is correct (but the cursor is no longer fluid, which is why I've always used the hardware cursor). Also, if I set "open in low resolution" in the app's Get Info the cursor size is correct. I note that the 2019-02-20 build that I was previously using had "open in low resolution" checked by default and unchangeable. Excerpt of my settings:
The large cursor remains for any settings of scale_integer and scale_nearest. I have also tried this build on a non-retina Yosemite machine and the issue does not occur there.
I do not know if kanjitalk755 has a solution to that. He does not have a Retina screen to test it (and neither do I).
In the meantime, maybe you can try the previous 2019-02-24 build. That one does not have the latest changes but it can be opened in both low and high resolutions.
EDIT:
Yesterday I upgraded my machine from High Sierra to macOS 10.14.4 Mojave.
This build was created with Xcode 10.2 on macOS 10.14.4. Does it run on both your High Sierra and Yosemite machines?

Reason:
The early (last summer) version 2.5 builds (with SDL2) were tested on Lion and up, but I have no information about later builds on Lion.
All later version 2.5 builds should still work on Lion, but if you would test that, yes please.
