Mouse Freezing

Post by donaldj »

Hello,

I found an old topic about mouses freezing at when PearPC runs, but works fine in the original OS. However, they didn't find an answer and that post was over 3 years old. So, I bring this question back from the grave.

Sometimes when Im using pearpc, the cursor stops working. This usually happens whilst the computer is in deep thought (lol... douglas adams). Also, this happens if I click outside the window, or Windows logs me off. Is there a way I can stop this?

I've tried many combinations of Alt+Enter, F12, Ctrl+Alt+Enter, and others.

THANKS!

Hi,

You might try running other pearpc applications available on the net, but to my knowledge (getting rusty) there is no perfect pearpc application.

I had that same problem, which made pearpc unstable for everyday use.

I did this .

start pear pc
CTRL ALT DEL
Select the task manager
find the pearpc process in the list
click right on the process (mine is ppc2.exe)
click set affinity
uncheck everything EXCEPT CPU 0
click OK

I have not had a freeze since making these changes. Not one.
You can download a program called Task Assignment Manager v1.0 to
automate this process. (goggle it)

here is my pearpc startup batch file.
------------------------------------------
@echo off
Start /MIN c:\pearpc\taskassign.exe
Start /HIGH ppc2.exe osx2.pearpc
:end
------------------------------------------

It's not possible to fix. Don't touch mouse/keyboard when something is loading in Mac OS Pear PC. Wait when it loads, and then toch mouse/keyboard... It's worked for me

Note that you posted in a very old topic. It is also not clear if your post is about PearPC on OSX/macOS or PearPC on Windows. The topic is (was) about PearPC on Windows.
