Basilisk II (not 64bit gui) crashes Monterey 12.5
Hey, Y'all
My Late 2013 MacBook Pro won't run Basilisk II even with the 64 bit GUI the GUI is fine with version 0.20 of the currently in beta 64 bit version but the actual launcher/app crashes when trying to start it and for the love of man I can't figure out why I'm running Monterey 12.5 using OCLP (OpenCore Legacy Patcher)
Thanks Ladies and gents for y'all help in my situation

Not sure what you mean with "the actual launcher/app crashes". Do you mean that the GUI app crashes when you click "Start"?
Did you make sure to have BasiliskII and the GUI in the same folder?
If so, you may have been bitten by a security feature in macOS.
Try this:
Copy the "Basilisk II GUI" application to a different location (like your desktop), then trash the original application and move the copy back to the folder with BasiliskII.
The GUI "Start" button is not needed to launch BasiliskII. After configuring in the GUI you can also click "Save" to save the configuration and then launch BasiliskII directly.

Did you configure BasiliskII using the GUI?
Then please show us the content of your BasiliskII prefs file:
Launch Terminal (in /Application/Utilities/) and type at the prompt followed by a return.
The file will open in your default text editor. Select all content and copy and paste it here in your reply.

Re: Basilisk II (not 64bit gui) crashes Monterey 12.5
Hi,
There is one issue with those preferences:
The "rom" entry should point to the rom file you want to use, not the disk from which you want to install.
If you don´t yet have a suitable rom file, you can check the guide to see where to find a suitable rom.
https://www.emaculation.com/doku.php/ba ... kii_folder
Use the GUI to point to the rom file, save the preferences and run Basilisk again.
Best,
Cat_7

Re: Basilisk II (not 64bit gui) crashes Monterey 12.5
No sound on either SheepShaver running Mac OS 8.5 (not sure if I should create a separate thread) or Basilisk II running 7.1 (see log above) not sure if this is a gatekeeper security/privacy thing or what??
Re: Basilisk II (not 64bit gui) crashes Monterey 12.5
Please read our guides on how to enable sound:
