Game not working with FPU JIT

Post by gorans »

Hi,

I just want to share a possible bug. Midway (https://www.macintoshrepository.org/5831-midway) is not playing correctly when "Compile FPU instructions" is enabled in JIT. Calculation of coordinates in game is wrong.

Best regards,
Goran

Thanks for reporting. I suppose you use BasiliskII on macOS?

We usually advise to not use JIT compiler at all with current BasiliskII builds unless needed for whatever reason.
On Apple Silicon (M1 etc.) JIT compiler is not functional, all settings in "JIT" tab in the GUI will be ignored.

Yes, I'm using Basilisk II on Intel Mac OS 12.6.1.
Thanks for the advice, I'll turn JIT off. I usually strive for max performance but there's plenty of emu speed on modern computers.
