Re: Qemu package and guide for Windows available
What are the differences between the QEMU packages here vs. the one on QEMU's site?
Re: Qemu package and guide for Windows available
Hi,
There are only two reasons to use packages provided here:
We provide packages with features that are not (yet) in the main Qemu code
We only provide packages for PowerPC or M68k emulation.
If you use a Windows or macOS host, there are no real official packages, although the Windows builds from https://qemu.weilnetz.de/w64/ might be considered to be "official".
Best,

Re: Qemu package and guide for Windows available
Sorry, I have a question.
What is the screamer build?
What is the difference with the normal and screamer build?
If using Screamer, do i have to change something in the command line?

Re: Qemu package and guide for Windows available
The screamer build is needed to have audio support in Mac OS 9.
You do not need to change the command line to use it, except perhaps changing the name of the qemu program into what is called in the download.

Re: Qemu package and guide for Windows available
Hello there
I wonder if it is possible to create a video on how to set up qemu (mac 9.2.2), including adding a 30 GB drive, usb, and using the PC CD ROM. Although there is on the site a help page, some things such as how to get the qemu monitor, etc it is not very clear - especially for those who use computers, not make them
). That would be a great help.
Kind regards from South Africa

Re: Qemu package and guide for Windows available
I'd like to ask, is there any reason why the screamer patches isn't being upstreamed? Like it's been several years and surely it has matured to the point of upstream viability. Or am I missing something?
Re: Qemu package and guide for Windows available
The patches don't perform optimally. Work is being done in that area, but the developer is a busy person.

Re: Qemu package and guide for Windows available
I see my question regarding the Apple Audio Extension has made it into an "official" info in the first post.
Let me use this opportunity to once again thank everyone involved in QEMU's Mac-Emulation for their hard work, especially getting it to run on Windows too.

Re: Qemu package and guide for Windows available
No Screamer-Build update to v9 yet?
Re: Qemu package and guide for Windows available
There wouldn't be anything to gain with a new build as the functionality hasn't changed.

Re: Qemu package and guide for Windows available
hello, why the command key is unpressable?
Re: Qemu package and guide for Windows available
Hi,
You mean the keys on the left and right side of the space bar as seen in the key caps application in Mac OS?
Those keys are mapped to the windows key on a windows host, but suffer a bug (the key should act as modifier key, but starts repeating) when using -display sdl.
The developer is aware, we await a fix.

Re: Qemu package and guide for Windows available
Ask the developer. No one here knows the answer.
Re: Qemu package and guide for Windows available
Oh ok
Re: Qemu package and guide for Windows available
Hi, i want to ask one thing
Have Qemu 9.1 arrived on Windows?
Have Qemu 9.1 arrived on Windows?
Re: Qemu package and guide for Windows available
I can compile a new version for windows but I normally only do that for versions that have functionality that is not yet in the official source code.
We are waiting for the developer to update the sound-enabled source code to Qemu 9.1. After that I will make a new build.

Re: Qemu package and guide for Windows available
New qemu-system-ppc builds (both regular and sound-enabled) are available in the first post.
Please read the note about the SDL keyboard fix that is included in both.

...and the key does indeed work now
. Thank you.
As a side-note - While I do not have hard numbers to back it up, my gut feeling says that the games I am playing performed a bit better on the Screamer v8. Same WinPC here, no hardware changes.

Re: Qemu package and guide for Windows available
A new experimental build enabling dual cpu support is posted in the section for experimental builds in the first post in this thread. Read the readme!
