burn toast file in windows?

Post by lilmul123 »

I downloaded a "legal" CD image off the net for MacOS X, but it has a .toast extension, I dont have another MacOS system to burn it with, I'm stuck with Windows. Is there a program I can use to open or burn this toast file in windows?

You should be able to burn in Nero. Chose to burn image and there should be some option to burn it as HFS. It does work for HFS images very simply

remane to .iso (because that's what it is) and choose burn image from the file menu in Nero. Nothing to configure...

There you go

I don't think it worked, i tried Nero, and isobuster to extract the files to an ISO, and it keeps telling me invalid media or something. Im just about to give up :(

Burning an image and extracting data under Windoze are two different things! I know that burning Mac images works because I'm doing it very often. But in your case burning wasn't even necessary. The TOAST format is essentialy the ISO format. That still doesnt mean that it is readable under Windows (it's HFS...).

Try booting PearPC from your renamed ISO image. It should work.
